Thotyssey: Hello Blossom! It’s now officially Halloween Month… are you a fan of spooky looks and numbers, or is this not your time, lol?
Blossom Dior: Although I’m not a spooky queen myself, I am super excited for Halloween season. It’s the time where creativity truly shines, and people step out of the box in so many ways.
Absolutely! September was a very busy month for you: you competed in “Shequida’s Drag Wars All Stars 9″ at Pieces, and you were a finalist for the first ever cycle of the “SLAY” competition Freeda Kulo hosted at The Ritz! Were those fun or stressful times?
It was a little stressful having both in the same week. However, I think I finally started to find myself in drag. It was truly an experience you wouldn’t get anywhere else, and I learned so much. And honestly, I’d probably do it again.
At this early point in your drag journey, how might you describe your style as far as looks and numbers go?
I would describe Blossom Dior as captivating. No matter the environment, no matter the day, she’s gonna give you energy. Whatever I perform, I put my heart and soul into it… and it will be translated to the entire room. I want people to feel something when I’m in the room. Whether it’s a bra and panty or fully stoned gown, the energy will always be there.

So where are you from originally, and did you always have skills and interests that ultimately led to drag?
I am from South Side Jamaica, Queens. I grew up there for a majority of my life. I’ve always been in the performing arts; however I was never exposed to drag until I was 15 and coming to terms with my identity. I studied music for a while and learned makeup from my mother (she’s a cosmetologist), which ultimately led to me having these skills today. I was in fact a theater kid — low key, lol — which is how I learned to dance and pick up choreography.
How did you become Blossom Dior, and what was your first drag performance?
Blossom came from my love of the Powerpuff Girls, being a natural leader. In my old friend group I was always the “Blossom” of the group, and the name just stuck. My first performance ever was at The Ritz at the “Open Call” competition (previously hosted by Holly Dae and Stasi).
Do you enjoy the competition show circuit, or is it like “a necessary evil,” lol?
Well… I’m no stranger to few hiccups that happen in the competition circuit! However, I don’t let anything deter me because I have a genuine love for drag and for being an artist. This is my outlet, and I love to showcase it any chance I can get.
On Thursday, you’ll be doing shows at La Cuerva in Manville, NJ with Jada Honey Diamondz and other queens! Have you performed in Jersey before?
I have performed in Jersey one time at Six26; it was a ki! But I’m even more excited to be with Jada and everyone in the cast because I’ve known a few of them from previous experiences. Group dynamic can be really important when doing a group show.

Yes! And speaking of groups, you’re now part of a very exclusive one: the cast of “Pantheon Season 4!” That’s a six week drag competition starting October 19th at Icon Astoria, hosted by Suddenly Audrey! What made you want to partake in this, and what can we expect?
OMG I’m so excited. I’ve seen the last two seasons of “Pantheon” and the amount of creativity it takes is the reason I wanted to do it myself. It’s not just about your package, its about your ability to create! As far as what to expect… I’m not giving no hints. You guys are gonna have to watch and see. Just know, its gonna be fierce.

No doubt! What else is going on with you?
I now have a monthly brunch at Insa Restaurant in Brooklyn with Aurora Ivy and Rumor! Every third Sunday at noon. You can also catch me every Saturday night as your door girl at Lips Restaurant for all evening sittings!

You have an original single, “Treat Me Like Somebody,” that you dropped with a remastered mix in 2024! Do you have any more music in the works?
OMG, I haven’t thought about it in a while! I have little projects I am working on, but music is just something I like to create to express my emotions. I’ll have another single released in 2026, so look forward to that!
Excellent! Okay lastly, what’s your favorite / most essential item in your drag bag?
I have two! First is a brush… cuz baby, after a number or two, you gotta brush that hair! And second would be my lip gloss. I love a pouty mouth, and no lip is complete with a little shine.
Thanks, Blossom!
