A popular gogo dancer and drag queen on the rise, Sage has big moments coming up for both personas.
Thotyssey: Hi Sage, Happy October! Do you have a big pile of spooky looks for the season yet?
Sage: Hey, Happy Spooky Season! I actually do I have a couple of little of hair and outfits I recently got that I’m excited to wear!
Terrifier 3 is out, and all the horror kids are loving it! It looks too gross for me though… are you a horror fan?
I do love horror! I’m a big horror fan, even though I get scared easily… but I just love it. I’ve actually seen the other two Terrifier movies, I’m so excited to see how they’re gonna outdo themselves this time.
You serve the NYC nightlife community as both a gogo dancer and a drag queen! Do you have a preference for one or the other these days?
I love doing both! I’m very grateful for the opportunities I’ve gotten both as a gogo and drag queen. I do prefer doing drag a little more these days, only because I took eight months off drag and just strictly worked as a gogo… it was very needed break.
Are you a native New Yorker?
I’m born and raised in the Bronx, and still currently living there.
You’ve been a dancer in some way or another within NYC nightlife for a minute now.
Yeah, crazy–I started dancing backup for queens since 2018, and nightlife just felt right for me.
What’s your favorite music to dance to?
I love slow, contemporary music because I don’t get to do or perform it often–but when I do, it’s always a good time. But I’m really open with music; I love all types.
You had a bunch of memorable gigs as a dancer over the years, including supporting Jayse Vegas‘ live shows, “Gay College Wednesdays” at The Ritz, and co-hosting a weekly gogo competition with Tammy Spanx at Playhouse! Did you have an all-time favorite gogo gig?
Looking back at it, it’s crazy how much I’ve done so far; it’s been such a blessing, and I’ve had a couple memorable ones. I love every time I go to either Troupe 429 in Connecticut and Paradise in Jersey always a great time being there. And also “4Play” with Lexington Banks at Balcon has always been a favorite of mine as well.
What’s more fun to be tipped as, a gogo boy or a drag queen?
I love getting tipped both ways. But in drag, I do like to play around with it and have fun.
How might you describe the type of drag you like to do?
I love rock; I always loved Hex Girls. And I love goth girls and superhero girls.
You got some stuff coming up! First off, you’ll be dancing for The Duplex’s new Saturday night gogo showcase. Tell us about “Pop’Her!”
Yes! OMG I’m so excited for it; it’s going to be an amazing night! It’s an honor to be a part of it and doing the opening night.

And this is also amazing: on Sunday October 20th, you will debut as a contestant for the new season of “Pantheon,” Icon Astoria’s epic drag competition that Suddenly Audrey hosts!
I’m so honored to be a part of that! Like, I can’t wait to tear up the stage and show people other talents I have; I’m not just a dancer! I really can’t wait to give it my all.

What else are you up to?
I also gogo dance at Balcon for “NØ RSTXXXN” every Friday!

Okay lastly: who would you rather date, a vampire or a werewolf?
Well, I do love to be drained… so I think I’ll go for the vampire, haha!
Happy Halloween, Sage!
