Hellen Waite: Hi, OMG yesss! I’ve been working hard to get my package together for this upcoming cycle of Ultimate Diva… so today my labor is absolute relaxation on the beach with my judies, xox.
That’s fair! What’s your favorite part about presenting in a pageant: the looks, the number, or something else?
Oh definitely the looksss… I’m getting better at the crowd work part though, lol.
How long have you been in the drag world now?
It’s been about 5.5 years so far!
Where are you from originally, what sort of creating things were you into growing up, and how did you discover and start drag?
I’m originally from Pittsburgh, PA but I moved to New Jersey with my boyfriend in 2022. I’ve always been super creative and love any kind of tangible media; I’ve basically always been painting and drawing, but I sculpted one of my looks for this pag! I discovered drag back when RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 aired, but I didn’t try it until I met my BF in college.
How did your drag name come to you?
I was actually getting my nose re-pierced way before I even started drag, when I saw a sign at the desk in the shop that said “If you have a complaint, go to Hellen Waite” — and it just stuck!

How do you get such great makeup skills?
I used to practice my makeup every day instead of going to some of my classes, haha! Plus, the bi-weekly drag shows that we used to run with [Penn State “drag ambassadors”] PSU Opulence definitely helped!
How might you describe the types of numbers you like to do onstage?
I always feel particularly drawn to bubblegum hyperpop, but more recently I’ve been super in my more slow and sensual, alien burlesque-type era.
The acclaimed pageant you’re competing in, “Are You the Ultimate Diva?” hosted by Janelle No. 5, is this Tuesday night at 3 Dollar Bill! What can the kids expect from your package?
I’m literally so excited, OMG! I’ve been hoping to be a part of “Ultimate Diva” since I first moved to New Jersey and fangirled over Janelle at her weekly Monday show at Pieces, lol. And I love taking my looks to new limits… so expect the unexpected, for real!
Speaking of Jersey, you’ll be joining the girls at QXT’s in Newark for “Throwback Thursday” on September 11, hosted by Noa Peele and Summer Eve Slayer!
OMG yasss, literally so excited, OMFG! It’ll be my first time at QXT’s, and also my first time performing in Newark! I literally can’t wait to meet the dolls and turn it out with them.
Any Spooky Season looks planned?
Absolutely getting my spooky looks in order! But I’d really love to do a Sylveon inspired look… or bring back some of the gore sprecial effects stuff!

I literally can’t go anywhere without my Infinite Chrome Flakes by Danessa Myricks! Absolutely a go-to for this alien babe!
