This fairly new drag stunner can be found turning it on some of NYC’s hottest stages… soon we will all be begging for more Pleasery (rhymes with “freeze dry”)! [Cover photo: Trouble]
Thotyssey: Pleaed to meet you, Pleasery! It’s GLAM Hangover Day for many of us in the biz! Were you there?
PleaseRy: Hey, hey! I was very busy with many of my business entanglements, and unfortunately had to watch the Glams over FaceTime. Great outfits, though!
Beautiful gowns! Your Balcon Mom Shequida did win for Best Competition, via her Pieces show “Drag Wars”… and she looked spectacular!
Oh she always does. NYC should put respect on every. single. Swarovski. stone on that beautiful, feminine, soft female body of Shequida’s. And they do. I’ll love “Drag Wars” forever – it’s where I got my start.

Where’s your original hometown, and how did you begin as a creative / fabulous person before drag?
I grew up a little all over the East Coast, but I spent the majority of my time in South Central Pennsylvania while my summers were in Rhode Island. I grew up in a small, five person household that definitely took some warming up to in terms of my femininity and expression. It definitely took removing myself from that environment–which at points got very dark–to find myself fully and packed up for Savannah, Georgia straight of out high school!
Savannah is a beautiful city and, surprisingly, full of creatives and incredible artists. I picked up “bedroom drag” there and then debuted at” Drag Wars” in August of 2022, right after seeing Gaga at Metlife for Chromatica. It’s been a wild ride since, and I’m so grateful that I fought through some really difficult years and relationships to be where I’m at now.
Your out-of-drag name is Ryan, so your drag name basically means “Please, Ry!” Right?
Yes! Something like that! It was actually my Tumblr (*corn*) account handle back in high school. The content wasn’t of me, though, just the men that probably watch my shows now! And, yes, it is pronounced “Please-Ry” thank you very much!
How would you describe the kind of drag you like to do today, as far as looks and performances? Do you have any influential divas?
Well, Pleasery is the high-end homo h*e for a reason. Going to a Pleasery show is the same feeling you get from a Twitter account: aroused, and probably high on poppers. I try to give as much quality as possible, because if you’re spending money at the door, the bar, or for a ticket… than I should have a couple stones on me at the very least. Being hot is so fun! And although I love the attention, I hope I reciprocate it back to the audience, in person and online, as much as humanly possible.
Gaga has to be my biggest source of inspiration for performance. Although, the dolls are forever my biggest source of inspiration look-wise. The showgirls are the blueprint – period.

Tell us a bit about how you made your journey with Shequida from competing in her “Drag Wars” to co-starring with her at Pieces’ latest sister bar Balcon’s hit new Sunday show, “Balcon Rouge!”
Shequida saw my booger drag one faithful night at “Drag Wars” and immediately threw me into “All-Stars,” the yearly pageant she runs with the “Drag Wars” girls. I was horrendous, but a determined little baby queen. Many open stages and resulting serious bookings later, we fast forward to May 2023 when she asked me to not only be in “All Stars” again (redemption!), but to star in Voss’ Pride event at Sony Hall. That one night launched me into something really serious with New York drag, and my second run at “All-Stars” got me a temporary spot at “Balcon Rouge” which turned permanent, of sorts. Shequida is very, very pivotal in this scene and has afforded me opportunities that put me on the map. Being under her wing the past year has been an honor. I owe her my naked body every single Sunday!
“Balcon Rouge” is not for the faint of heart! It’s a hole-opening, mouth-drooling, “in-of-body” experience! Are you planning a Balcon trip on any near Sunday? Would love to see you!

Thursday, you’ll be in Brooklyn’s newly GLAM-winning venue 3 Dollar Bill for “Night of 1000 Lanas!” Are you a Lana Del Rey stan?
Yes! Are you? How can’t you be? Ultraviolence just turned ten years old, and I can’t believe it. “Night of 1000’s” is one of the funnest shows in the city, and I’m so excited to be back.

She’sWhat else is coming up for you?
Oh, lots! I’m working on a few personal projects, shows of my own, and developing my craft as we speak! There’s always something to learn and upgrade, and I’m doing plenty of it. The first order of business would be to tighten my a** a bit… I just purchased my Equinox membership.
Also, I want to express my love for NYC and the community that is raising me. It’s hard, yes, but it pushes me to go beyond expectations… and I thrive in that environment. There’s so much legendary drag here, new and old, and I’m so honored to be on the roster! If anyone needs a hot blonde with minimal attire, I’m your girl. Also, be on the lookout for some fab shows soon! If you know, you know.
Yaz! Okay lastly, the impossible question: Who’s team are you on to win Drag Race S16?
Oh fierce! Honestly, Plane reminds me so much of my New England mother: blonde and some very diabolical mind games. Russia might win this war! Love all my NYC divas, though. Have to add that, haha!
Well played! Thanks, Pleasery!
