The multitalented Gregory Buckheit serves spirits and full on productions in a bunch of popular NYC hotspots.
Bars that I work at: Balcon, Pieces, Playhouse
How long I’ve worked there: 1.5 years
What are my shifts: Balcon: Sat + Sun happy hour; Pieces: Monday night; Playhouse:
Tuesday all day
What makes these bars great: My favorite thing about these venues is that they each have their own unique energy, and there is genuinely something for everyone – not to mention I also get to perform at two of them! Every Saturday (and sometimes Sunday) I host a live singing happy hour at Balcon. It’s a three hour event with pop up numbers and a bar that is entirely half off! It’s a chill musical theatre vibe, perfect for a post matinee or pre show cocktail. Every Tuesday I cohost Ruby Tuesdays at Playhouse with Ruby Roo — a chaotic, live singing, musical theatre, stand up comedy drag show that is guaranteed to make you laugh and feel included.

Best drink I make: I have a history in high end cocktail bars, so my favorite drinks to make usually fall into the category of nuanced and booze forward. A Mezcal Negroni really hits the spot.
I love it when customers: Come for the drinks and stay for the vocals
I hate it when customers: Stop sticking your gum under the tables, y’all. This isn’t a school cafeteria
Craziest thing I’ve seen here: The level of talent that hits these stages!
Other places I’ve worked: I started my career in nightlife at the now closed The Spot – RIP! I’ve also worked in a few high end cocktail bars, and in the coffee industry as a barista educator.
My hometown: Smithtown, Long Island, NY
Stuff I do when I’m not bartending: I spend a lot of time at the gym, dance class, and auditions – the hustle is real!
Single or Taken: Single
Who/what turns me on: Confidence, consistency, and intention are the big three I’m after these days… but a fat ass, a nice smile, or a thick cock do the trick in a pinch.
Favorite music: Love some contemporary r&b, slutty pop, and disco
Favorite movie or TV show: LOST will be my forever favorite, I’ve got a tattoo dedicated to it… and no, they were not dead the whole time.
Favorite drag queen: Kizha Carr – drag and performance excellence
My drag name would be: Something horror or food related probably – Toni Collect or Peggy Custard make me laugh
Favorite gogo boy: Chance Hoover — always serving cake like nobody’s business
Favorite DJ: Hope 808 — we work together on Tuesday nights, and have so much fun with Ruby
Other stuff you need to know about me: Since getting sober back in 2025, my passion for this work has doubled. I really care about creating safe and inclusive queer spaces for the community to enjoy. I’m so happy to be a part of queer nightlife and what it brings to this city.
