Best known for her dazzling dance performances and sexy stoner style, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 14’s pint-sized powerhouse Jorgeous revealed an even more impressive talent set when she returned to the franchise this year for the ninth “All-Stars” season. We got a chance to speak with her as the World of Wonder / Voss Events tour of the S9 girls passed through New York. [Cover photo: Davide Laffe]
Thotyssey: Jorgeous, hello and thanks for grabbing a moment to chat with us! We hope you enjoyed watching back your turn as a contestant in RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars as much as we did. I think I speak for everyone when I observe how much you’ve grown as a well-rounded entertainer this time around, in such a short time! Did you feel a ton of new confidence coming into that season, or were you just kind of rolling with it and figuring it out as you went along?
Jorgeous: Yes, I was super confident coming into the competition because I had worked with and knew some of the girls before I got on Drag Race–so it felt like a family reunion. When it came to the challenges, having RuPaul telling me to just be myself was the push I needed, because I already knew I was funny.
We’re rapidly approaching Spooky Season, and your Megan dance in the Rusical is going to be on a lot of Halloween YouTube playlists! Did you know that was going to go over as well as it did, and are you planning on creepy doll dancing your way through October?
Yes, Spooky Season is coming up! I knew it was going to go over well because I’m already a tiny girl in drag; I just needed the wig and the look. I knew I was going to slay it with my dancing.
Many observed how much RuPaul herself really seemed charmed and impressed by you that season. Did you feel that love in real time, or is it something you noticed more looking back?
Yes, in real time Mama Ru showed me so much love. I made Ru laugh every time I had a conversation with her, and in every episode she would say I was born for drag. When the person you look up to believes in you, it feels great. I love that lady.
Angeria Paris VanMichaels won the season! She seems like an absolute delight.
Yes, my S14 queen Angie won AS9 and I am so proud of her. Competing with her was so much fun, and she devoured every single challenge! She deserved to win so much, and I’m so happy for her.
Do you have any thoughts on Drag Race Global All-Stars, if you had any time to watch any of it? The fans certainly have thoughts, lol!
I have been watching Global All Stars, and it’s so good to see girls from all over the world competing.

What’s the most fun thing about being Drag Race Famous?
The fun thing about being Drag Race Famous is traveling and meeting fans, because I was really shy before the show. Getting the opportunity to travel and meet fans brought me out of my shell. The love and support I’ve gotten over the years feels amazing
Is there any other reality show or competition outside of the Drag Race franchise that you’d think you’d have fun on? A Real Housewives or Survivor, or perhaps The Traitors?
I would love to be on a dancing competition show, or I would love to play a super gay character in a scripted TV show.
You just wrapped up your national tour with several of your All-Stars 9 co-stars, care of World of Wonder, Paramount Plus and Voss Events. How did it go for you?
It’s fun working and living with the girls from AS9. We all knew each other before the show, so it felt like a family reunion.
What else is coming up for you that the children need to know?
Catch me in Vegas from October 3rd to 28th. I have a lot in store coming soon, stay tuned!
Okay, lastly: what is currently your favorite item in your drag bag?
The only item I can’t live without is my water flosser and perfume, because bitch… you always gotta be smelling good.
Thanks, Jorgeous!
